About Us
James and Sue Barrett have been married for 41 years, 24 of which were spent in Old Rectory Cottage in Feckenham, Worcestershire.
We moved to Little Detton in beautiful South Shropshire in July 2017
James started his own business in 1982 which his sons, Adam and Tom, now run as a company - J W & A J Barrett Ltd, Craftsmen in Metal www.artmetal.co.uk - James now works part time for them.
James is a talented Artist and some of his prints are available to buy - please ask!
Sue started out as a teacher, later as the proprietor of a Craft Shop and since 2007 a Priest in the Church of England.​
She works as a non-stipendiary Priest in The Cleobury Benefice

The Retreat House is our own home which we run as a Quiet Place and Retreat House.
We are dedicated to be as nature friendly and self sufficient as possible.
We want to offer people the chance to experience the peace and blessing our home and surroundings can provide.
We recognise the many benefits that countryside living and being around animals can give to people's wholeness and healing and want to offer these experiences to others.
We try to keep our charges as low as possible to enable people to come whilst still covering our expenses.
